"Pseudonymity"
Words: Adjoa Gharban
Images: Michele Di Dio
For Fall/Winter ‘23, we release the second chapter in our series of editorial commissions—entitled the ‘Anonymous Zine’. The project invites artists and photographers to interpret Aeyde’s Fall/Winter ‘23 Kollektion through the lens of anonymity, which served as the inspiration behind the collection. In the second installment, we’ve partnered with creative duo Michele Di Dio and Rosalie Di Natale to investigate anonymity as something that can also be crafted.

In Chapter 2: “Pseudonymity”, we delve into the freedom afforded by pseudonyms, aliases and pen names—mechanisms for creating distance from the self long employed by photographers, artists and writers alike. Through a series of character studies, we observe a range of characters as they adopt different personas.

It begs the question: what would you do if you didn't have to do it as you, and what does that say about who you truly are?
