The Crone


For Fall/Winter ‘25, Aeyde explores the enduring influence of witchcraft through ‘Aeyde Hexe.’

‘The Crone,’ the season’s third and final instalment, is a performance film created with acclaimed choreographer Sharon Eyal to mark our 10th anniversary. Premiered during the celebrations, the piece reimagines the figure of the malignant witch through Eyal’s distinctive choreographic language.

Long cast as a cultural specter, outcast and feared by society, the witch is often portrayed as a scornful elder or a vanity-obsessed woman who possesses the power to shapeshift, transforming her appearance and body at will. Once a symbol of fear, ‘The Crone’ reclaims the witch as a powerful, unrestrained force. The piece was performed by four dancers from the Staatsballett Berlin, who wore footwear designed by Aeyde in collaboration with Noa Eyal Behar and Sharon Eyal exclusively for the performance.
